One of my favorite assignments while working at GRIN was to design the graphic language to be used in GRIN's navigation icon set. This was before we had a dedicated Creative Director, and I was excited to be given the freedom to apply my own creative direction to the project. I set out to use shapes, a big part of GRIN's branding at the time, and color gradients to create a set of icons that could extend beyond the website's extensive navigation menu.
